The possibilities are endless, I say as I install the same old.

Check it, I got a new 'puter! Somethin' somethin' specs here that I don't feel like sharing (I dunno, a habit due to where I'm from, really), but it's a lot bigger than what I used to have. Naturally, my video editin' job is about to become a whole lot better once I learn the nebulous ways to, uh, wrestle with after effects --- and the impending doom of Adobe products takin' over my laboral life because some annoyin' people want and require Adobe instead of maybe bein' more flexible and now I'm just complaining 'bout my job here on Dreamwidth so maybe I oughta shut my trap 'fore I get REALLY angry with it.

Anyways, y'know that my gamin' senses are tingling at this revelation. I tooootally can play, like, the newest-latest games that aren't actually new or late. They're late for my poor, third world ass at least. However, right as rain I found myself simply downloadin' emulators and cookin' up a list of ps2 games that I couldn't play before and that I wanta play now. Right now, I'm finally able to play Kingdom Hearts 2 without havin' to download that monster of a 60 gb ReMix joint they have floating 'round the interwebs, dude. Tu-bu-LAR!

See, I think that's mostly my problem with modern gamin' -- besides that a lot of games don't really look fun or appeal to me (which is another tack, completely). Why are most games weighin' heavier than me?! I'm a hefty chick to start with. Some games I understsand, they're long and open-ish world or gotta whole lotta things goin' for 'em but I cannot fathom if, like, 80 gbs are justifiable when the game runs like absolute ass! When games started to take up more than 30.6 Gbs of space is where we went abysmally wrong and I don't think there's a correlation at all but I am 100% right. Wouldn't be an issue for most of you guys, but for me? I share my wifi connection with like three to four people and the highest speed here isn't nowhere near some of y'alls. Downloadin' a 6gb pixel-joint may take me a while dependin' on the server, and even then that's a gamble.

Now imagine me tryin' to, like, download somethin' that's 20gbs... Yeah, I rest my case right over here in my little corner of the world. Retro games are accessible, easy to nab and download for people like me and I cannot overstate how important it is for me that the retro community continues to upkeep and update emulators and archive increasingly rare games. Snobs will keep their jibber-jabber 'bout piracy and "people usin' excuses" but they can keep doin' that 'cause I'm not hearing any of it. Y'won't convince me that gaming companies nowadays deserve a penny for the shoddy behavior they treat the consumer with --- and for the way some """REMASTERS""" have popped up outta the corner to seemingly replace the original experience and force the remasters down that performs 10 times worse? Yeah, it's a wonder people are angry.

Same shit applies to extortion-levels of prices for streamin' services. Again, that's another tack. I'm gonna chuck up the dough to get a TV, a console and a handful of games one day and I will keep a PC dedicated to my retro gamin' and aging PC games 'cause I am NOT goin' to try and follow the wave and rely on companies to keep my games in my hand, no fuckin' way. Major bummer, dude.

Why is everythin' gotta be online anyways, now I sound like the angry videogame nerd, but it's true! Y'can't start your console without, like, an internet connection nowadays it seems -- hell, y'can't even start your windows experience without an obligatory internet connection and a fuckin' account to their services. Something, something, ensures privacy. Up your ass, pipsqueak! I've never seen a more vulnerable system than yours, and I've been 'round young girls with depression before and lemme tell ya we can be so easily manipulated into anythin' it's kind of fucking alarming! So what if I don't wanta have an internet connection with my gamin' experience as part of a therapeutic day-off for me? What if I just don't get that luck? Am I locked out of the experience? THIS is why y'all want us to pay a chunka cash for?

Ugh, this turned into a rant, pals. Sorry 'bout that. If only I was not right in everythin' I said.

Anyways, excitin' things happening in my computer! I say, as I download Bully: Scholarship Edition for the nth time...
